From the Douglas County Forestry Department: Thursday March 11, 2010
Summer ATV Trail Conditions/Closures:
Trail segments that remain open are usually abandoned railroad grades with a large layer of ballast which are not very susceptible to rutting or damage. The trail segments which we typically delay opening of are in more fragile areas such as the trail across the Gordon Bog or the Right of Way of Highway 53. Please note that we will closely monitor the portion of #35 (The Wild Rivers Trail) which has been graveled to see about a signifigantly earlier re-opening date than in the past.
The following summer recreational trails are open at this time:
#35 - Wild Rivers Trail - CTH Y south to the Douglas County/Washburn County line.
#35 - Wild Rivers Trail - Harroun Road north to the CTH A/C Parking Lot.
#43 - Gandy Dancer Trail - WI/MN stateline to CTH BB .
#2 - Saunders Grade Trail - WI/Mn Stateline to the Schallemier Road Parking Lot.
The remaining summer recreational trails will be opened as conditions warrant.
